Hey Vonna....I have met Danny and guess what......you are taller than him lol
Same here Saltine.
My favorite tactic to kill wasp (should work on hornets too) nests is to load up a pump up sprayer with tobacco juice with some dish soap thrown in. Tobacco is a natural insecticide and the dish soap breaks up the surface tension of the liquid so that the wasps/hornets/bees/spiders absorb it quickly. I can knock them out of the air with it and use it to drench the hive. Just be sure to wear goggles or a swim mask and stand upwind.
Spectracide concentrate loaded into a backpack sprayer will knock them dead on contact. Fun to shoot them out of the sky!
Personally, I simply blow the hornets nets up with a shotgun and never look back. Two rounds of #8 birdshot works pretty good. Go out that evening and spray the carnage with a good can of wasp/hornet spray for good measure.
don't forget, i get the nest, after its cleared of the critters
pox go get it EARLY
Give billbob a blind fold and a golf club and tell him it is a Pinata !:Rofl
Worked for a tree service, and we were cutting down a THICK mulberry that unbeknownst to us had a hive in it. The limb it was on hit the ground and ruptured the nest. You never saw 5 full grown men MOVE so fast ! I got stung twice; 1 guy got like 8...we came back that night with 3 cans of Black Flag Wasp and Hornet Killer and liberally soaked what was left of it. Would bet what was left of it was 20" in diameter and it had had a couple hundred hornets in it, luckily most died when the limb landed on and crushed most of it. But the few survivors were EXTREMELY pissed off at 1st...
