Unfortunately `ethics` no longer compete with profits...
This is why, after 40 years of it, I don't do HVAC anymore. The field has been totally screwed by low balling labor who devalued the hourly rate while driving up costs through poor practices. I retain my EPA card and tools for personal use but I'm done with people who think you can work a miracle for 50 or 100 bucks. Now, house and roof washing... This is a killer field to be in! In just a few months I went from being almost idol to I can't-keep-up-with-the-work!
hey, maybe he lost out on a good job. thats the way i look at it. i get under bid on my jobs too but thats the way its supposed to work. that what keeps the prices down. i buy from the cheaper supplier. doing anything else wouldnt make sense to me. cant see being be loyal to a shop that is gouging you anyhow. he must be the only supplier in the area, or he wouldnt last long with higher prices.
this country needs a reality check and to move back towards conservative ways. the 80s really ruined logical thinking in this country. it spawned people that pay 5bucks or more for a freekin cup of coffee. lol
Let us not forget the fact that that same person selling that $5 cup of coffee between loss of any `benefits`, cut hours, and over all lose of purchasing power while that same CEO now makes 15X more income for the same (or LESS) amount of work has not helped anyone (except of course the CEOs voting themselves ever the higher salaries, perks, ect). Something`s gonna give...perhaps those CEOs will either man the store sales counters or figure how to "legally" force the hourly employees to start PAYING the companies to work for them...just a thought.
At one time I did a lot of remodeling and home repair for a while I got every job I bid. And we're not taliking cheap bids. Then it got to where I coulldn't win a bid. I could usally find out what the other person bid. The low pprices would floor you. I knew I was not making a killing so I wondered how the other person was making any money. So I went to driving a truck. I had the chance to haul a load of that $5 coffee. Luckly for me they offered me a cup of it at their warehouse office. For those of you that have not had a cup of it DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. It was just NASTY thats all you can say about it.
