Has anybody ever mounted a skillsaw blade to a weedeater? I have some pine sapplings that I can't pull out with my equipment. But, I have this idea to cut them low enough to mow over the annual sprouts. DP

Can't do it with all of them-some just aren't powerful enough. Shindaiwa makes a real horse that has the proper offset to keep the blade level, and it is wonderful. I used to raise Christmas trees and still own a 20" carbide tooth blade I put on my hi wheel mower to cut off the old pine stumps flush with the ground before planting new trees, so you are on the right track.

Wouldn't advise messing with something like that. My brother-in-law did something like that but with a mower blade and it was to heavy for the weed wacker and it came apart and almost cut his foot off. Cut clean through the bone. EB

Handsaw or ax will make short work of it, or buy the right tool for the job.

Yep, what I was thinking. Always use right tool for the job or suffer the consequences

MTD makes a brush cutter blade that attaches to all kinds of brand weed eaters. I looked at one tonight for about 22 bucks. I would love to know if it works and worth it!

DP I have an Echo weed eater that has a circular blade with a chainsaw edge that cuts stuff real good. It isn't an after market jury rigged deal either. Check at your mower supply companies and they should be able to help you out. It also has the weed eater head with it and simple to change. I use it to cut my bamboo and clean up underbrush also. Good luck and do it right, might cost a little more but it is safer for sure. Ferdi
