what exactly are you looking for ? meaning what all do you want from the new laptop reason asking you would be able to get more for your moneys depending on what you are going to use the laptop for !!! is just to surf the internet and public forums ? pictures , music , games ???

I did everything on my old one. I used a lot of CAD programs and schematic capture programs. My old one was pretty fast with 8 gig E2 ram.

if you have a BestBuy near by they have some good deals on laptops that will handle your needs !!!

I really like my ASUS with Windows 7 Ultimate. Also has 8 gig ram. Came with Windows 8, but hated it. Windows 7 Ultimate fit me just fine. But... I'm not as sophisticated
as some people. LOL
So many to to choose from, almost couldn't make up my mind.

Windows 8 sucks I tried one with it for three weeks took it back and got my money back and found one with Windows 7

I downloaded a program to make 8 act like 7 but haven't figured out how to make it work right.

I am (was) using XP. So why not 8? I don't know 7, so I shouldn't hate 8 too much. Maybe. The only reason I am getting windows is because MAC want run my CAD programs. Sucks.

Going to Best Buy tomorrow and look see.
