See, that's the thing about being able to differentiate between things that are harmful and things that don't harm anything. I don't understand the mindset that would rather remain willfully scared rather than learn how to identify and cope with things that are harmless.

It's senseless to debate the issue, seeing as how no one's opinion or actions are going to be reversed ... regardless of how much information is expelled in the conversation.

So ... with that in mind, let's fall back to the "agree to disagree, with civility" rule ... before I have to lock this thread down.

Cottonmouth, rattlesnake, copperhead, coral. Lots of rattler subspecies.

YEP !! ... & you can see what venomous snakes reside in your state, right here : Venombyte.com - Venomous Snakes of the US by State (with PICS !! )

Alaska has no known venomous snakes, and Hawaii only has a sea snake that's venomous.

Now, of course, this doesn't take into account any (legal or illegal) "imports" that might escape from their owners ... these are just the indigenous ones.

Thanks. I checked the photos of each out. Although i never got a good look a the head, I did see the body and tail. Very sure was not either rattle snake. Was not the cotton mouth. Similar to the southern copperhead but do not think that was it either. an education for me for sure!

    Yeah...I like this verse better

"And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel" (Gen. 3:15).

Nonetheless, I don't need a Bible lesson, read it thru many times.

    or this one..

14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock
    and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
    and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.

    yeah...THATS my favorite snake scripture...

Since this has turned into a Bible study, I'll add a couple of my favorite verses:

And the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” - Numbers 21:8

" ... they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” - Mark 16:18
