VERY rarely do I run across a king snake. And yes, I DO know exactly what they look like. So emerald green they look black with a thousand yellow speckles on them like they were splattered in paint. There is also one that looks like a coral snake, though I have never seen one in my life in person.

Spiders are useful too right? I step on all I see. Don't want em near or around me..do YOU? What about wasps? They serve a purpose right? if it builds a nest in my BBQ pit, im sprayin it. You? Im not gonna learn about the wasp and what it needs to peacefully relocate.

Im done, I don't want to argue about this anymore. If you keep it up, Im going to kill three snakes in your name! lol

Well, it's good to see that strawmen made an appearance in your argument. That covers the big three for logical fallacies. There is no reasonable argument for killing nonvenomous snakes. There isn't even a reasonable argument for being scared of nonvenomous snakes unless you can't tell the difference between venomous and nonvenomous ones. They literally can't hurt you.

And I'll use insecticide in a heartbeat, but I'm not going to spray my pit with it. I'd far rather smoke them out.

I think you're confusing me with Wind Knot. Regardless, this:

OTOH, I don't see the difference between these two examples:

Oh, there's been much better. Check out Cane Pole's "chain draggers suck" thread. "Night fishing should be banned" was another good one. And, of course, the "jig vs minnow" debates are always good.

Whether its a snake, a gator, girls, horses, cows, dogs, cats, ect........... that scares someone it really doesnt have to be reasonable to you or anyone else, to each their own. Didnt someone in the Good Book step on and smash the head of the serpent, pretty good example to follow me thinks. Its a dern snake and who cares whether he kills em or you relocate em.....
Yall have fun, I am gonna see if I can Cane Poles drain draggin thread..

Maybe I should type out the entirety of my thoughts better than I do...I see you need every detail in this all important debate over killing a snake in a boat. (which should be no more of a debate than what color a green frog is). NO ONE...not even Wind Song would allow a snake to live in his boat....which is what I originally commented on. (the fact that it was ridiculous) Which I still stand firmly on BTW.

I hate snakes. Cant tell ya why no more than you can tell me why you're scared of rough seas, or the dark, or clowns...or whatever it is that gives you the crawls. Go ahead, tell us nothing affects you that way...maybe you're special...congrats. My point was the deer stand choice was a choice that affected ME...the cotton mouth on the ditch lets say, while duck hunting, or scouting in the summertime, is going to die because it will not inhibit anything Im doing to dispatch it, which is what I FEEL needs to happen. I cant express to you, how little I am concerned with how that may make someone feel (me killing a snake), I would give it no more concern than stepping on a spider or squishing a tick.

I hope I have expressed clearly this time my position on killing snakes to your satisfaction. I thought about submitting my response to someone smarter than me to proofread, someone who may be more enlightened and well rounded than I...a snake lover perhaps. But, then I didn't. So please excuse any misgivings or typos, misalignments of thought, or discrepancies you may encounter in this all scientific thread. It's content is very important to me and I wouldn't want to be misleading. thank you.

I never mentioned the snake in the boat. That's a completely different situation. I only asked about this:

Default Got a snake in the boat

I'm okay with a nonvenomous snake in my boat. For real. It's a sight better than rats that eat wires. And rough seas kill a whole bunch more people than nonvenomous snakes. Fact. That's what makes rough seas a whole lot more dangerous than clowns or the dark or nonvenomous snakes. See, that's the thing about being able to differentiate between things that are harmful and things that don't harm anything. I don't understand the mindset that would rather remain willfully scared rather than learn how to identify and cope with things that are harmless.

Edit to add- Genesis references smashing the head of THE serpent. In this case, it is referring to Satan, who was also referred to as the shiny thing in surrounding passages. There are also references to snakes that shine a positive light on them, in Genesis, even!
