Rducks.....That compressor is over 25 years old and has been used a bunch since I was a mechanic before I retired. A good machine and using the RIGHT oil, and proper maintenance, they will run a long time.

Everything G said plus most compressor oil is formulated to not absorb as much moisture as regular oils will along with the anti foaming agents. To me with compressor oil the pricing is a non issue. How often do you have to add or change?

    You guys are a hoot.

As far a the price for the oil, I can afford it too. I was just thinking about the synthetics.
There supposed to be sooooooo much better and are topically more expensive. I was considering changing over. Mine has to last me too.
Who knows now? Maybe new compressors come with synthetic oil in them.
My compressor doesn't use any oil at this time and it's about 20 years old. Oh yes, it's a 60 gal.
