    Default Old threads

Why are old threads randomly apearing on the main forum? Take for instance the trotline thread from 2007! Nobody replied it just showed up.

It didn't just randomly pop to the front. Someone had been looking at the old thread and they replied to it causing it to show up. Any thread that isn't locked no matter how far back will come to the top if it is responded to.

    LBM is correct.

Usually it's brand new, or relatively new members, that bring these old threads back to life by replying to them. I'm not sure how they're accessing them, but it's likely that they are reading back into the beginning pages or possibly searching for posts on a particular subject, and finding these threads ... then, without looking at the date of their posting, they reply.

I'm sure it comes from the "related thread" list down below a thread. It garners someones attention, they click on it and then respond, which brings it back to the forefront. Most folks don't see the date of the last post and toss their two cents into the mix.

I thought I would check this theory,so I replied to a thread that I thought was hilarious.
