When Vonna posted pics of her uncle made me think I had never posted a pic of me in Nam, I graduated Flight School at 19 and this is a picture of me just after I turned 20. I thought I was 10" tall and bullet proof which I later proved to be wrong

thanks for your service, my dad was a pow in ww2 welcome home.
Thank You for your service, sir ! have served with many different types of pilots; F-14s, E-2Cs, A-6s, but have the utmost respect for those whom climb into a machine that is FORCED to fly against it`s own inclination, and who largely do so with the greatest skill and determination, often largely armored only with their own bravery and audaciosness. And especially the "Dust Off' crews. Once was on a wooded hilltop as part of a 16S ("Stinger") Manpad unit. shouldered the weapon, hearing the beat of the rotors and LO and Behold, an AH-64 "Apache" comes into view dead in front of me, not 100` away; the gunner sees me already drawing a bead, the helo skids around and his rotor wash starts beating me...the ref
(who initially ran and tried to hide) called it a "mutual kill". I aimmed for the pilot and squeezed my trigger before the gunner could put his gun on me...but he`d of likely crashed on top of me anyway. Fun in the woods...the A-10s were the TOUGH 1s...
Welcome home, sir. Currently in Afghanistan and am always impressed by our pilots' skills (pretty high altitudes here, of course, power issues). This war, along with your war, will be remembered for its Army aviation. MEDEVAC crews are especially amazing, too.
