Open-Office Office Suite CD

Has anyone tried this? It's supposed to be a free Office program.
Figured I'd ask prior to testing it out.

I use it = works great (Open Office) ! ! !
Can't read word docs but can change em over to open office docs....
I downloaded mine off internet .....
(I think getting the CD will give you a lot of stuff you might not want)
But, try it and see ....................

I used to use openoffiice.org without any problems. Also, I agree with Phantom, signing up with that sight will probably load you down with spam. I would create a new email account if I were to sign up for that.

FisherMike, when I click your link my Web of Trust flags that site as untrustworthy. Matter of fact most Open Office Google hits are tagged by WOT. These are NOT true Apache Open Office sites, they are offering "free dowload" but afterwards you have to pay for it.

If you really want the open source free Apache Open Office program go to this site and read about it.

Apache OpenOffice Downloads

Apache Open Office is a suite of programs that do the same things as Microsoft Office and it is completely free. The programs may have different names than Microsoft Office but do the same, some are even better than M$ Office, especially the Spread Sheet.

These are the applications contained in Apache OpenOffice. Open Office Writer is the same as M$ Office Word. Impress same as Presentation in M$ Office. Calc is same as M$ Office Spread Sheet. Here are descriptions of the various applications in AOO.

I've been using OO for years...

Great stuff... And free..(Gates gets enough of my money from windows)...

Just takes a few extra clicks to save stuff back into a Microsoft format so that other people can use or open it...
