Gun Control

Well Chris, I realize it is just my DA luck being born where I am. I have been robbed four times in my life, three times at stores pumping gas, and in pretty good locations. Three of those times at gun point, one time by a gang. Only one time would a gun have helped me. Of course all these robberies have happened in Memphis and over a 35 year period. All were not white, hmmmmmmm.
Only one person in here knows how recently was the last time I was robbed, I should have been more watchful that day but, ole DA Rusty just had to go in that C-Store. So, I decided to excerise my 2nd Amendment right to purchase a hand gun. I bought a Glock 26, it is a dayum good gun, easy to conceal. It makes me feel good to know I possibly have an equalizer. I'm glad you realize the need to shoot weekly. I'm glad to pray to your God that you don't need it to protect yourself...I do as well. You seem to take this serious and it is serious to possibly taking the life of another.
I like you have no need for weapons that have thirty round clips. I do hunt some...30.06 Remington, 12 ga. 3 inch Browning auto, several Remington pump guns, and a few handguns as well.
What I can't stand is someone to prostitute the meaning of what the Constitution says.
This is why Liberals hate the Constitution.......it works. Liberals are so entrenched in idealogy, they aren't happy until sheet if...what is the word Mr. Tom....up.
If you do not like the Constitution, thats cool with me...however, you need to sit up there in Ne. and be quite.

I looked on yahoo/news for this story. It's on the back page already.
His car could have been harder to find.
Since he was a con, he should go back into the system.
Now we will have to feed and house him some more.
I guess his insurance will pick up the hospital bill.

It could very well be that i have been sheltered during my life and not had to deal with a high amount of crime, gangs and shootings being raised in Nebraska all my life, so I guess my feelings on firearms could be warped because of that. I've never been robbed, the only time I had a gun aimed at me was while I was on tour in Afghanistan. Simply put, I think American citizens should have the right to bear arms, just not every kind of arms on the market. Obviously I have created a lot of friction saying that i support people not being allowed to purchase or own an assault rifle.

In all honesty, I don't really care if people carry an assault rifle or not. It's just gonna make me feel a bit uncomfortable walking outside, there are idiots and morons in this nation and nothing is more dangerous than an idiot or moron with a loaded gun. Please don't assume that I mean all gun owners are idiots or morons, but its only gonna take one to do something stupid that will ruin everyone's rights. There is nothing I can really do if the law says all assault rifles are banned or everyone can have a gun. I'll just have to go along with it. I wouldn't call myself a true liberal, as i do go along with some conservative aspects.

I've voiced my opinion and didn't get much love for it. :) So I will take your advice fishingpox and sit up here in Nebraska, be quite and wait for spring to start so i can hit the water and not have to think about politics.

Maybe you have run into a good friend of mine in Afghanistan? His name is Col. Robert Williams. A good guy, just got out of that sheet hole and made it back to the embassy in Estonia. I'm glad you are safe as well and will be more glad when all those men get to come home.
Yeah, I went to an indoor range the other day, I was told there was a two hour wait. I grinned, and thought good, people are listening. So I just drove down to my sisters house to shoot.
You are 100% correct, there are some people out there that do scare the heck out of me. I know this by looking at the holes in the ceiling at the range and think DAYUM.

Good. Lots of info from both sides. Hopefully eyes have been opened a little bit more. Educational for sure. The freedom to express yourself is still alive
and thriving. The freedom to absorb or resist info to the betterment of all equally exercised. Been robbed too, couldn't drive fast enough to catch the
robber and couldn't drive crazy enough to attract a policeman. Dumbest day of my life. Where are they when you need 'em? Of course, this happened
prior to cell phone days, so past history. Went to Cabela's today and walked through the gun & ammo department. Busy, busy & busy. Ammo shelves
stocked to maybe 25%, and all customers limited to only 10 boxes per. All clips/magazines for .22 ammo gone. None in any other calibers. Did mistakenly
purchase two 10/22 mag magazines that will be returned. Gun shows being held everywhere now it seems, but conventional weapons starting to sell again.
No AR type weapons available anywhere. Now they are talking about black powder weapons being added to those they want registered for confiscation.
Think I'll just have a yard sale and sell everything so when they come looking for mine, I can tell 'em I sold 'em to a gang of illegals. Won't that rip them?
Naw, I sold 'em long time ago, can't remember just when it was. Paper work? Naw, didn't see a need for paper work. How far can you carry the ignorant
factor? I know, ignorance is no excuse for not knowing the law. Maybe I could just act dumber than I really am. That makes my head hurt already. LOL

After reading about how little ammo is for sale and how expensive it is, I've decided that I will no longer be able to fire a warning shot to those who wish to do me or my family harm.

Yup, done it a few times and did it again while I was there. Just didn't make mention of it in my post. Was just walkin' 'round lookin' and browsin' and
takin' stock in what was happenin'. While I was there, my doctor walked up behind me and said boo. I was talkin' to my pastor 'bout what he was doin'
there. Had a funny conversation with both of 'em. I'm a people watcher and we did a little of that while we were conversin'. Lookin' at some of 'em folks,
makes you wonder whats on their minds.
