Today is December 22; that means we have passed the winter Solstice and the shortest day of the year and now the days are getting longer again.
Here in CT we've had some ponds skim over ice for a day or 2 and then the weather changes and away goes the ice. Open water abounds but too busy with the season and getting next years wood ahead so I have more fishing time next spring. Besides, I think I've reached the conclusion that I'd rather fish when *40 seems like a warm day rather than a cold one.
Uh oh, I think that last sentence is a sign of getting old.
