Carry and Conceal

So maybe we should start arming children? CC for kids? NO amount of "laws' will protect anyone from a fool or maniac or criminal. If the children and teachers in Conn. had had CC, the lunatic would have had to go to a nursery to commit his crime. So how soon do you start arming your 5 yrand older children and grandkids with the heaviest "iron' they can lug around...RIGHT? THINK you are MISSING the point; how can society manufacture firearms that have accurate MORAL judgement capability and WILL NOT allow the emotionally unbalanced, insane, or sick to pull the trigger? THAT is the ACTUAL point of the DEBATE...ANY ANSWERS??? Obviously we don`t seem ABLE (or willing) to prevent their AQUIRING them. And unfortunately if they can aquire them, eventually, they WILL use them. SO, again, how do you make the FIREARM not ALLOW unlawful killings??? Good luck with that...

there is no publicity on how many lives or injuries have been saved by law abiding citizens .i know of several in my home town .

I am 66 years old and don't know personally of even one circumstance of that, before you step on me, I do not advocate taking guns away from law abiding citizens, it is a right we have and just like cars (which I suspect kill more people than guns) the good outweighs the bad, as far as saying somebody would have killed 28 people today with a lead pipe is just plain nonsense... Why do we always seem to feel a need to justify gun ownership... Tragedys like today happen because guns get in the wrong hands, unfortunately it is a side effect of our right to keep firearms.

Am not disagreeing that law abidding citizens have many times LEGALLY drawn weapons in self defense or in the defense of others. Think the question that I asked was DODGED...HOW do WE as a society PREVENT UNLAWFUL killings with firearms? Or will we simply say "Many must die so I PERSONALLY can carry a weapon and it is perfectly acceptable to me." HOW do we get the weapons THEMSELVES to be morally able to "make the call" ? GUN: This person holding me is mentally insane or temperarilly unbalanced and pointing me at a child; I will not fire. GUN: someone is preparing to illegally attack the person holding me, I will fire. Or do we just ignore it, stop watching the news and PRAY it doesn`t happen to our child or grandchild, counting on statistical probability as a "shield"?
