Gas Range Smell

So, our gas oven and range just all out of the blue started stinking -- not like natural gas, but more like some sort of exhaust smell. Any clues on what would be causing it? One time it's fine, next time it smell like an exhaust pipe.

I believe we have solved the issue. It seems my application of polyurethane in the basement is the problem. Appearently when you have those fumes in the house they mix with what your stove creates and makes a smell. Timing is spot on as to when I started appling the finish. I didn't know, but know I do.
