We have baked, fried and smoked ours over the years. Our favorite is smoked and it's the easiest too.

On the Weber---indirect heat---applewood chips added.......Now that's a good turkey!
neither way cooked tastes good to me. turkey has an odd taste to it imo. give me a rare standing rib roast or a honey baked ham. if turkey were that good people would fix it year round like chicken.
incognito....... here fishy fishy fishy
I like my turkey smoked on my Traeger grill. Nothing beats a turkey smoked over apple wood! Mmmmmm!

My wife couldn't find a Perdue turkey this year and bought a Butterball. It sure seemed to shrink a lot when deep frying it. Thinking that the turkey is pumped up with a lot of water that evaporated while frying.
I cooked on in the fryer this thanksgiving and it was delicious.
I've enjoyed the ones I smoked. If someone else is doing the work, I'll eat the way they fix it.

My family buys turkey breasts and we cook them on the grill. I have had turkey smoked, deep fried, oven baked, and other ways, but I stil prefer the grilled turkey. I probably end up grilling a turkey breast at least once a month. It is all good but I prefer the grilled stuff. Just my preference.
