Ok I guess your right Beaver these folks should have expected help from the goverment. Looks like a large portion of them have been supported by the goverment there whole lives, both in prison and welfare.

Copied these blurbs from an article. Also posted the link to it so it can be checked for credibility.

In South Carolina, state police checked every evacuee flown there by the government. Of 547 people checked, 301 had criminal records, according to Robert Stewart, state Law Enforcement Division Chief.

The state police in West Virginia said roughly half of the nearly 350 Katrina victims evacuated by the government to that state had criminal records, and 22 percent have a history of committing a violent crime.

In Massachusetts, where about 200 evacuees were flown to a military base on Cape Cod, criminal background checks turned up six sex offenders and one man wanted for rape in Louisiana. Two of the sex offenders have since left the state, said Katie Ford, a spokeswoman for the state public safety office. The rape suspect was being held on $250,000 bail.

"If" the article is true...that's about as bad as offering someone in need of money...a $10 bill and they complain because it's not a $20.


Sorry to disagree...but if me and mine were hungry, tired, and homeless...it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to be given shelter, a bed, and food, by the Trumps....I'd thank them....and do whatever I was able to do to repay them.

I personally will save my contributions for those that don't cuss me or act like I owe it to them.
Just like Christmas. My joy is giving a gift to delight the receipient. If I gave (and have) a present to my child and he complained about it not being what he wanted, I'd take it back IMMEDIATELY. He would get NO gift.
Why would I expect any less from an adult? Being through trying times is NO excuse to me.

Gooch, that doesn't surprise me. Then I wonder about the percentages in the neighborhoods that needed assistance in evacuating. I wonder if they are still in line.
I'd think that it would be the poor that need the most help and that they would congregate in the poorer neighborhoods and the higher ratios of criminal records would be expected.

Another thing I wonder about is did the folks investigate the records of those offering assistance? Consider 10's of thousands of folks from both government and non-government insititutions that show up to help. I'll bet a lot of them have criminal records too.

I understand the desire to run background checks, but somehow that doesn't set right with me. Security is important for the group safety and it should be provided. The checks will help with security. I believe there could be higher priorities than running background checks. They still needed help.
