...you can look under carpet and seats on foam padding....most scamers wont replace either...they just let them dry out.....look for tell-tale stains from water also there will usually be some discoloration or fine dirt from the muddy water under seats around frame...also under carpet under seats hard to reach area's.....also look under dash if it has a "shelf" area; silt will collect there as well.....check these area's with a bright light ...................................I used to work for used car dealers as mechanic... :D

My son bought a used 1999 Jeep Cherokee a few years ago. He did an online vin search thru one of the places you can price cars and trucks thru. After coming home and doing a search on it's vin number, he then went and bought it. Had over 100,000 miles on it and he wondered why, and found out that it was owned by a company. Body and inside was in great shape, but mileage was the worry. So don't buy until the vin is checked out. Even my local credit union can do a vin search, and if your in one they should be able to too.

There was a long article in todays paper about that. I imagine those cars will be showing up for several years. On the other hand, if they are sold honestly and they tell you it was a flooded car, it might be a good buy. But you don't know if electrical problems might start happening later due to corrosion. I don't think I would want to take the chance. Some of those computers used in today's cars are very expensive.

I figure we will relive past mistakes and send all the metal to asia from NO as they are getting it all now anyway. Hope they have new ways of returning it post WWII.
