Today we made the obligatory trip to Bass Pro to redeem our gift cards for tackle. We left at 2 Pm and drove from Houma to I-10 west of New Orleans and from there to I-55. From there we went up I-55 to I-12 and from I-12 to Bass Pro. While traveling west on I-10 when we passed over the edge of Lake Pontchartrain we encountered some heavy fog which brought the traffic to a crawl until we got passed the lake. Then when we got to Manchac on I-55 we hit the same band of fog as it crossed I-55 into Lake Maurepas. We made it to Bass Pro without any other incidents. We spent our bucks on mostly plastics and headed home. We took Hwy 16 to Hwy 22. Along the way we saw much debris still sitting on the side of the road from the terrible flood that hit that area a while back. Many houses were being renovated and some torn down. At the corner of Hwy 22 and Hwy 70 is the Coffee House with it's hot beignets and coffee. I can't pass there without stopping to sample. We left there and headed home via Hwy 70 and Hwy 1 and 311. It was an enjoyable trip and on the way back we listened to some great oldies from the late 50's and 60's. That brought back some great memories.
