Phones are real sketchy still. I got a text at midnight last night that was sent 12 hours before. Heading to my daughters for the first time in an hour or so. Poor thing has a bad headache. I'm sure the stress is finally getting her. Randy, thanks for letting me use your thread to post on. I'll send a report later.

doc :)
We got in the house today, took my daughter a while to get over the shock. I told her just hug me and her husband and we would make it better. After a prayer we tried to organize and get going, but took a while. Quite overwhelming. We had a few friends and my 2 other girls show up and we got after it.Can't thank them enough. Man it was so muddy and smelled so bad. Everyone showed up to work, and we managed to get out about 80% of the wet stuff. A known contractor came over and is going to give a hard estimate to finish it out. We barely saved a little furniture . Tomorrow after the guy measures cabinets, we have to pull them. He also told us we better cut the stucco on the outside by the front door. We worked till about 5 and heard the electric was turned on. Quite surprised. (we had all breakers off). Low and behold a lot of people turned on A/C's. At the advice of an A/C guy we tried it. Great news , it worked fine. We hung around and kept cleaning until 6:15. Man we are all beat. I had been cramping since 3. Now that I ate some supper, donated by church, and of course a hot shower, I can hardly wait for bed. In the morn, we finish sheet rock. take down all the interior doors and frames, save the knobs, and rented a machine to suck up the wet mud. Will be another long day. Will get some pics tomorrow. The street was lined with vehicles and wait till you see the piles of stuff. Her car had water up to the seats, would not turn over at all. Computer under water. His truck was wet on the carpet, but looks like it will be savable. They drove it over here tonight. 2014 F150. I'll post pics tomorrow. Devastating scenes. "D"
Danny, we will be praying for you and your family and all of the others that have been affected by the flood waters. Reading your report brought tears to my eyes. Our Baptist association of Winn and Jackson parish is gathering up supplies to send somewhere south next Tuesday. They are also trying to organize a group of volunteers who might could give a few days to come south and work with clean-up. Don't be shocked if you look up and see me. I am going to try to come. May the Lord bless, strengthen, and encourage you and your family.
Pastor.
Danny after going through this with my mom and dad's house for 2 hurricanes, I know what you are up against but just like my mom and dad's place, yall will have her back to a liveable place before she know it. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help. :pray
It's bad here as well. I-10 still closed in Lafayette, water still rising south of me. Didn't help one bit getting an inch of rain last night. Vermilion dropped only six inches here at the house in the past four days thus far, at least it is dropping slowly. Lots of devastation and folks out of their homes, many are still trapped in. What's extremely unfortunate is that many are unemployed - now that there is tough to be sure.
I will try to post pics after while. Another hard day. We got out most of the sheet rock and insulation from 4 ft down. The house had dried up a bit with the A/C on.Daughter and SIL both lost their schools also. Her principle helped today and I asked her if the school would be savable. She said no ,it's full of mold. School might be canceled. So many teachers flooded and so many student's family's also. Dywane, I been through a lot of hurricanes, with serious house damage twice and even flooded a house twice before. But, the magnitude of this is the worse I have seen by 10 times. Anyway, a friend is cooking jambalaya for all of us, and the designated grand boy watcher(Mae) cooked white beans , so I have showered and heading over to my daughter Rory's to eat.We have not brought the grand boys over to their house yet. They saw pictures and like everyone else who saw the house for the first time, they cried for a while. Another round tomorrow. By the way , a lot of people just left there boats next to roads. Saw a couple winching them on the trailers. If you ever winched one off the ground, you know that is hard. Those were people who helped other people. One thing for sure, Louisiana may have faults, but the people are awesome.
