It came up in its own from the vines we pruned off of 2 other vines in the yard that were thrown in the compost bin. The vines that are cared for and fertized every year do not produce but this one produces a couple of gallons of grapes every year.

I don't remember.....that was about 65 years ago when I lived in Mississippi.....also had a huge area of wild plum trees that I would rob.....the yellow and the red ones.....mom made plum jelly also.....Quote:

I love muscadines too. I like to do like Dwayne and freeze them. They make a great summer time snack by letting them defrost a little and pull the peel back to eat the still frozen insides. Very refreshing. I might have to go visit Eddie Romero in New Iberia and pick me a few gallons. He has a bunch of vines which get loaded each year. I think they are 10 bucks a gallon which I think is fair. I usually get 3 or 4 gallons and if he isn't working he'll help out.
