Picked up some New England white pine today for the floors in the addition. Truck arrived at 9:00 and I was loaded at 10:00. It arrived shrink wrapped, and I put it into the addition to acclimate before I start laying it in the next couple of days. 3/4" X 5" with a 1/4" tongue unfinished. Yes, I did get lazy this time. With the main house, did 3/4" long leaf pine upstairs, and 3/4" red oak downstairs, and 3/4" yellow pine on the porch - all tongue and grooved myself with my shaper. Didn't feel like doing any tongue and grooving on such a large project - yes, lazy I know. This is the first load at 325 sq. ft.

The subflooring is 1" plywood, and I have laid the tar paper (felt) down. This fellas will be a real floor. Don't care for the laminate or "engineered" flooring.
Your doing it the way I would do it! Looks excellent in the raw.

Laid the floor with the white pine in the one room in the addition. Fought it as usual knowing it was going to be checked, bowed, and warped. It was to be expected with unfinished 3/4" lumber, you fellas know what I'm talking about. Made sure it was tight all said and done. Sanded it good smooth. The unfinished floor laid:

I likes what I did. Not sure if I will stain it or not. Maybe just lay the polyurethane on it and call it good. Actually, I believe That's what I'll do.
Fixing to call it good and light up the grill.
