Bayou rum from lacassine la sells it. It is really good with lemonade
Reminds me of when I was in high school, the legal drinking age was 18 before anyone gets upset. We would have bon fires at the house and anyone that was drinking had to spend the night, keys went to mom and dad first thing! Well dad came out and saw that we were drinking country time lemonade mixed with segrams 7, he gave it a try and said it really tasted good, surprised him! Mom and dad don't drink much so for him to like it, we knew we were on to something! Good memories!
Yep....and I still like that drink
One things for sure I aint watering the garden no time soon.
With the mild winter we had, the citrus trees here are blooming big time. Looks like I might have to support some of the lower branches on some, serious buds. Sure love the smell of the blooms when walking within 30 feet of them.
River up ten feet next to the driveway:

Serious current moving downstream though, which is good. Another six feet it will be on the driveway. We're good though because it will take another 30 feet to reach the house - at that time the Lafayette airport will be 10 feet under water.
Uncle! The rain can stop now anytime. Taking a break now while working on the second room of the addition, up and down the ladder dealing with the exposed beams. Took a picture of the river rising:

Our new neighbor across the river is a retired Air Force Colonel. Appears like his place will flood before long if it keeps up. He sure seems young with kids six and seven years old. He said that when he bought the place recently that the barn there has all kinds of stuff in there and has to get rid of it all . Yours truly will be over there in investigate tomorrow.
I believe we'll have some crawfish enchiladas this evening, we need to work on that later before the sun goes down. Anyway, back to it - willing to bet most folks have the television turned on right now.
Woke up today to still more rain. Our plum trees are loaded like I aint eva seen before. We plan to pick em Monday but at this rate we gonna hafta wear boots to pick em.
Randy, if you would take the time you spend talking about people going to walmart and watching tv, you could sit down for a spell and read an extra book or 2. :biggrinAnd thanks Ann for telling us what kind of cake that was. Gonna call Miss Denise for a recipe next week. Hay did you see the mini donkeys they were looking for homes for on FB?
I saw the donkeys, cute as can be. I intentionally didn't show them to Randy. I don't need more mouths to feed.
