Drank Barqs most of my life, tried the Abita and it is very good. A neighbor had some of those root BEERS and they were very good root beer and definitely as good or better than Barqs and has the alcohol of a beer to boot. I am a beer drinker and do not like fruit and stuff in my beer. But this was a good hard root beer.
I agree Cappy, I'm the same way. Haven't tried the Abita yet. This root beer is serious, a true root beer flavor, definitely a keeper in my book.
5.9% alcohol in a root beer sounds interesting.
Here at Toledo Bend on Thanksgiving Eve, sunset across the lake is nice - I likes, just got here.

Ernie is tolerating the Beagle - just barely. The crappie were very small today, about 6 - 8 inches. Was good to be out. Pitched them all back, I go fishing most times not to catch fish. This old bridge structure normally produces the big ones when the deep water bite is on:
