Default Unbelievable! First day of vacation and my back goes out.

Get to beautiful Greer's ferry lake, Fairfield bay Arkansas, got settled in last night. Went this morning and put the boat in the water and get a boat slip and everything set for the week. Bring the boat trailer back to the apts or whatever you call em. .. Bend a little to check the bunks I just made and make sure theyre secure after the 280 mile trip...and wham. Felt like somebody shot me right in the lower back. I have 3 degenerated disks and they love to go out at the most opportune times. First long trip with the boat/ trailer and was pretty uptight during the trip hoping there would be no issues. That's most likely the cause. History has shown stress has caused this every time. Laid up now with ice hoping to recover with enough time to put some fish in the boat before Saturday. This sucks.

I have the same back problem.....but, like I tell my doc, my back never hurts when I am out fishing......

I can relate to your pain.....I do hope something like Aleve or something like that will jump start you real soon....

Ha thanks for the kind words guys...my wife went and got some hot/ cold packs and a back brace. I was taking aleve every day but it was tearing my stomach up. Just started Tylenol for my back and other arthritis pains...must not work as good. My in-laws are coming to spend a couple days with us and I believe my maw in law has some type of muscle relaxer pill I may have to borrow one.

Bummer about that. Just take it easy and enjoy your surroundings and vacation, just being there. Hope you get to feeling better. Once you do, remember we love pictures.

Are you familiar with a TENS unit? I bought one to help when my back decided to be a pain in the rear. It basically masks the pain through electrical stimulation. You can wear one while fishing or driving.
If you don't have one, be careful of rip offs. Some guys had a booth at an RV rally I attended and was selling them for over $150. I called my chiropractor back home and asked if they were helpful and he said yes they can help by masking the pain so you can function, but that price was way too high. He had one he ordered for a patient and was never picked up so I bought it for about $25-$30 and it has saved the day for me several times. Here is a link to one for info. If you are near a major drug store or pharmaceutical supply they may have them in stock.

    Access Denied

Seems they have gone up a bit since I bought mine, most I found ran $40 to $80, but worth it if it helps back pain.

PS, Don't know why link shows access denied, when I clicked on it I went to a Walgreens site. Anyway, if it does not work just Google TENS Unit.

Icy Hot makes one. I got one at walmart a few weeks ago for around $35. It helped more than any of the painkillers or muscle relaxers I've taken.
