That reminds me of my last trip out. Linda and I were riding along when 2 eagles appeared low overhead and gave us a very nice viewing. They then soared up over the trees ahead of us and allow us to pass.

That's cool Bruce! I saw one (Bald Eagle) by our camp last week. First one I have ever saw down my way. Was eating a dead rabbit on the road. When I turned around to get some pictures of him, he carried the rabbit off into the marsh. Couldn't get any good pictures of him but he sure was pretty!
I saw one Saturday in the Texaco canal
I duck and goose hunt around Thornwell, La., we see more eagles every year. It is not unusual for us to see five or six in one morning. We saw five sitting in one field one morning. Either mostly goldens or a lot of young bald eagles. We they fly over a bunch of geese, the geese go nuts. Saw two bald eagles last spring fishing. Im sure they had a nest in the area, but I never found it.
The most beautiful bird, the Eagle (USA) iv'e seen the on the White river in Flippin Ark just beautiful!!!
Ron, I'm pretty sure your photograph is an immature bald eagle. I've seen them before on D'Arbonne Bayou. I don't think golden eagles are found in Louisiana.
I've been seeing more and more of them every year. I've seen them on Caney, D'arbonne, D'arbonne NWR, Boeuf WMA, and Felsenthal NWR.
