I always felt a bit guilty when returning home from a deployment to a "hero's welcome" at the airport. My heart sank when I thought about the Vietnam vets that so undeservingly got spit at and cursed when they got home. You all have my deepest admiration and an glad to think (most) people have realized what a mistake that was. "Welcome home" cant describe my thanks and appreciation for the sacrifices yall made....Thank you for keeping your head held high through all of that. Happy Veterans Day.

I just missed it, but worked at Eglin receiving Viet refuges to live in a tent city. It was hot. Some of the most scared expressions I've ever seen on faces. They literally came with only the clothes they were wearing. A lot made something of themselves. I'll never forget this humbling experience.
