    Default Travelling rod

Hi all, I am looking to purchase a travelling rod. I will primarily fish in saltwater including Pontchartrain and other lakes available and will targeting specks and redfish. I was going to look at a Falcon rod, but decided that since I will be travelling with the rod in the air, that it would get destroyed by the airline. So any input you have would be appreciated.

I use a rod tube when traveling by air. All the major sports stores sell em. Or make one from PVC pipe. HTH

Like Jigrig said. Make you one out of heavy wall PVC, put foam in each end. Rig with a rope handle around it.

PVC would work, but I wouldn't want TSA to think I was packing a 7' PIPE BOMB in the airport..

Too pricey for my taste, but a friend found one of these in a pawn shop. Probably wouldn't hold up too much to big reds...still something to consider.

Put Louisiana Crappie. Com stickers on it. Take the Reel off and carry it in the Tackle box.

The 2 Piece Catfish Rod Combo will handle the redfish . That is what I took on the Offshore Oil Platforms. It fit in the Helicopter with room to spare. the sharks that got all my snapper were also hooked at times..... I gained a lot of respect for the Combo and it was not too pricey,,, I put Braid on mine
