I told you that you had plenty to do and now you have to mourn for a few days. Guess those Manzel autograph's will cost less now. What a weekend of SEC upsets, by other SEC teams. They have to stay in the conference to get but whuppin's.![]()

The driveway off the highway. Drainage along Hwy 1252 runs along the road, then takes a hard bend to the left, then right before draining into the Vermillion river right at my driveway. I am having problems with washing out where it makes the bend. I had have enough, time to do something. The state told me that it's not there problem because this coulee crossing is beyond the 10' right a way that they have. The parish said they can't do anything because it's private property. This coulee is 10' deep. I said fine, since it's private property, I will order up 16 yards of fill material and fill it in and call it good. They decided that they would take care of it. Crossing before the work was done:
They brought in the material. Coulee is 10' deep, 6' diameter convert to be installed:
Looks good:
Also started on the addition:
950 sq. ft. Those timbers are 12 X 12 and set 4' in the ground cemented. To be topped with 1 1/8" tongue and grove treated plywood Monday. All said and done, $27/foot total blackout including windows etc.
To be continued. No time for fishing at the moment. Thanks for looking.

Framed up. Those two picture windows on the corner will be 6' x 6' for a view much like the four I have in the house now. Vaulted ceiling to be exposed like the house as well. Nine foot wall on one side, fourteen on the other. All cuts had to be perfect because they are to be exposed. And they are. Current house has 12' ceilings exposed downstairs and 16' vaulted upstairs.
They started on the ceiling decking/beading today on the rafters. Again, all cuts perfect. I burned their scrapes from last week in my big fire pit Saturday. No scrapes over 24" so I'm happy. Thanks for looking.

Almost total blackout, tempered glass to be installed Wednesday.
I am doing the electrical wiring myself. Installed a 100 amp subpanel from the main house. Also installed a blank 1 1/4" flex EMT for future additions in case I need it (like I did on the main house). The 30 amp 1/2" flex EMT's coming off the bottom are for the pavilion and barn as well as an extra circuit under the house in case I need it. I think it's wrapped up tidy.
Took the day off today due to the weather and get things done. Back to work tomorrow so I can get some rest. Thanks for looking.

NICE.... What type insulation you using?
For the exposed ceiling applied T-111 then 3/4" foam board. Then followed that with 1 X 4 sleepers, 1/2" foam board, and metal roofing. Same as the main house. I calculated that the air gaps are just as important as everything else (always loved thermodynamics while at school). It has worked well in the main house when I did it years ago. Electrical bill during the summer roughly $130/month. All duct work underneath the house, made no sense to me to have duct work in the attic living in the south where that is the hottest spot in the house, efficiently greatly reduced.
