Thread: Squirrels 10-06-13

dude--that's a long way to kill a rat. LOL

Started going down years ago...early 90's with my Dad. Lots of people at the camp...playing cards, campfire...having a good time. Nearly everyone there was related to me, and I always had fun. Dad died in 96, but I kept going. Most of the group has gotten older and settled down more and fanned out some, so it's much smaller and tamer now. Saturday night we were asleep around 10 pm. LOL Still fun visit with my family though. Bonus was that I got to fish some Friday, and most of Saturday, and I've traveled a good distance before for fishing, so it evened out.

Sorry pondhopper...did that one year. had a couple of people said they'd take them for jigs, so I mailed them off. Never heard another word...no thanks....nothing. Decided they must not have been very appreciative since they didn't even let me know they'd rec'd them. Figured why bother next time, so I just toss them. Maybe next time if someone local wants to come pick them up though. I'll try to remember to save them and ask on here.

Yea squirrel hunting is a big deal in Evangeline parish Nut. Pretty much the whole parish shuts down for opening weekend. Ill got shoot squirrels a few more times around December. Squirrel gumbo is one of my favorites so ill have to get me a few more.

Get you a box of Boraxo stick them down in there raw end first . Leave a couple weeks . Dust them off and sell them on Flea bay . What kind of jigs do you use .
