Default Sam rayburn oilmen's classic bass tournament 2013

me and a buddy fished this tournament this weekend. don't worry, this is the only bass fishing I do each year. now it's back to crappie and the world I know best. there were 205 boats in this tournament and we finished 3rd. yep, got a custom rod, a plaque and some cash to pay for my weekend at darbonne. had a good time. we ended up with a two day total of almost 29 pounds.

Long poles work great on bass. I caught my all time biggest one (7 pound) on a 10 foot pole with 4 pound test and a 1/16 oz. jig head with an Electric Chicken panfish assassin. I was a nice fight but I won, then I let it loose. I've also caught a number of redfish on those long poles.

Mark great job on the win.

Doc, I'm impressed, I fished it 2 years ago with a buddy of mine. We tied for dead last, it surprised me how many folks that work in the oilfield are professionally sponsored. They all showed up in vinyl wrapped trucks and boats though. I guess no one says much because it's for a great cause. I'm glad to see an average guy like us finish way up there, congrats man that's quite an accomplishment.
