Default Off shore fly fishing...Hey Pete!

Hey Pete went off shore, about 20 miles south of Rockafeller with my buddy...Crazy Mike. Fishing wasn't very good but we would come on some bait fish tearing up the water every now and then. Well that got old Mike to thinking, "This would be fun on a fly rod!" So he broke out the old gear and low and behold after a couple of misses, he hooked up on one. Now it wasn't nothing really worth posting about (blue fish) but since it was caught on the fly, well that kind of makes it worthy. He did yell out the statement "Eat your heart out Pete Cooper!" Hope you enjoy!

Anyone know what kind of a bird this is? He thought it was a Bouby (sp), which can't land on water? Kind of makes you wonder what he was doing 20 miles out in the gulf don't it?!?!

    Nice job on the fly.

If that bird was a brown booby it wouldn't or shouldn't be this far north. The range doesn't say it comes here. But you never know. Besides the brown booby had a white belly , may be a juvenile Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373556170.704861.jpg

Magnificent FrigateBird is the name of bird pictured

the tail is usually swallow-tailed but you can see in the picture that it is just held very close together at that time.
