    Default Hummingbird picture taking advice

We have lots of humming birds around the feeders right now. How do you guys/gals take pictures of them when they are moving so fast? We tried last weekend, it didn't work out. Love the ruby throated ones.

Andy, we put out feeders every year and really enjoy watching them. Had one show up April 1, the earliest ever, but we still only have a couple. Sometimes we have as many as 25 by early autumn. I'm no photo expert but if you have a digital camera and don't know how to do all the manual settings (like me), put it on the sports action setting. That uses a very fast shutter speed and does a pretty good job. If you have a setting for multiple exposures, like 3 per second, it also is helpful in getting some action shots.

It takes a lot of patience I stand on ladder next to my feeder and have camera set up ready to shoot but it takes a lot of shots to get good ones.
