    Default Cypress New Years Day

The family went camping for a week at Cypress after Christmas till the 4th.
We didnt have a lot of luck with the crappie with the high winds cold weather and rain, we caught very few.
The boys and i set out jugs near the spillway in the deep water one evening, baited them with night crawlers in 18 to 20 fow.
we caught 4 big blue cats pictured below, 20, 25, 35, & 40 lbs. made the trip and fighting the cold rainy weather worth it.
    Great trip with the family.

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

Excellent Buster! I sure the boys had fun. It will be a pleasure to meet them at Toledo Bend - they are coming right?

Yes Tracker, they will be at the bend; but Pap paw gene we will leave the jugs at home. they are like master card I cant leave home without them especially on a fishing trip. They are what makes the trips so goooood.
