    Default Buying a Boat

Where is the best place to buy a used boat? Would it be from eBay, from a boat dealer, or directly from the owner?

I would rather buy from someone I know or a local dealer. Also go run it in the water.

My current boat was from e-bay in Tn.; one before that was e-bay in S.C,; one before that was e-bay in Ohio.
I think it's where you get the best deal, local, craigs list, e-bay or where ever.

Found mine on Craigs list. Took 6 mo to find the right one at the right price. Do your home work on what you want and what they are worth. Then just start searching in the areas you would be willing to travel to if you found the right one. Watch in our classifieds. And above don't get in a hurry. Next few months should see some good deals start poping up. Good luck on your search

Great information, pretty much the same process I went through but it took me close to a year. I did have a specific boat in mind though. It took me a little while to find the boat I liked, with the price I liked. I offered a few people the NADA price and they just laughed at me.

I knew exactly what I wanted down to 2 manufactures. Found 3 like the one I ended up with. Bought mine for half what the others wanted. Biggest problem I have found is most folks needing to sell owe more than they are worth.
