    Default CNG work truck


    just found out today that i will be getting a brand new work truck. it will be equipped with CNG. gonna be a chevy half ton 4X4. can't wait to turn in that dog ive been driving for the past 4 months. if yall have never driven a CNG vehicle, you never know the difference.

    That's what I heard. I would do the same except there arn't any filling stations down here. I've heard that your area has quite a few.

    yep we have one in coushatta, and two in bossier. but they will run off of gasoline too. so if the CNG runs empty it just converts over to gasoline.

    scott, the mileage is the same, but a gallon of CNG costs less than 2 bucks.

    It's also cleaner burning than gasoline making the engine last longer. Back in the 60's I had a friend who's son worked for a natural gas company as a mechanic and he converted most of their vehicles to nat. gas. The engines outlasted the ones that ran on gasoline about 3 to 1 and the cost of the fuel was cheaper.

    they are installing a CNG fill station in Mansfield, and one in Frierson too, along with the ones in coushatta and bossier, and i believe one in shreveport.
