Fausse Point State Park is a real nice park. With the park as the base camp one can either go into Lake Dautrive, Lake Fausse Point, Benoit Landing, Sandy Cove Landing, Charenton Landing and even Henderson is about 40 minutes away. Fishing success in the basin will depend on the water level at that time. We could even drive over to the bay and catch some red fish.
Crawfish won't be around but the crabs should be plentiful for a crab boil if people wanted one. At one time in my life I knew the basin like my ownback yard but it has been so long since I went into it I will need some help also. That is the main reason I never suggested a South LA gathering. I really do not know any real good spots anymore.
Fishing will get real good aroung the end of February or begining of March in shallow water under a cork.
I see 55 for Baton Rouge and 57 for Morgan City...anything above 40 is OK for me...just would not get there at daylight.....I have not fished the west side of the basin....Old River at Morganza might be OK....I caught 3 bass today at Belle River.....2 @ 15" and one at 17".....lots of eggs....
Sounds like a good plan to me! I would be interested, it is a bit closer for me too! You guys let us know what you come up with.
SneakyPete asked me to post this picture for everyone to see what the cabins at Fausse Pointe look like. He did say that there wasn't a store close so to bring everything you might need.

Might be something that I would be interested in attending.. lets see where it goes. I look at that water along I-10 at the Basin everytime I go towards Baton Rouge and always wanted to fish it.
