Got out for a rare evening paddle on Roberson creek last night. The surface temperature was a hot 87 degrees and I wasn’t marking a whole lot of fish inside of the creek.

Outside, I marked a lot more fish and ended up landing a total of 4 - two small crappie, a white perch, and a white bass, all on 200 series Arkie crappie cranks.

For the regular crank pullers, when the water is that warm, should I be fishing deeper or shallower? I marked a lot of fish around the 7’-9’ range where I’d expect the lures to be, but the bite seemed pretty slow. Wasn’t sure what I should try differently next time to get more bites.

At least the sunset made the trip worthwhile.
