I've caught some nice stripers on Okuma 15s. Almost big enough to handle leadcore. Never thought of trying to crappie fish with them. You can always mark your line. My penny.

I have five long rods outfitted with line counter reels. Some are Okuma 15's & some are Shakespeare ATS 15 reels, the Okuma's being bought used & the ATS reels bought new .... and they both function very well. They're only slightly larger/heavier than the baitcast reels they replaced, but once you fish with them awhile you don't pay that much attention to all that.
I chose these particular models because both brands have the double flat paddle grip handles, and not the single handle with the big oval grip.
Tev sent you a pm. If you are going to pull cranks probably worth the drive to high rock.
Matt, I've used okuma 15's for stripers for years and they're dependable. They should be well suited for pulling cranks.

So I just got my shipment in and I went with the Okuma 15 and got some more crankbaits. Hope to be jacking some lips this weekend!Attachment 345127

FYI, for the counters to be correct they need to be full of line. Also, there's a precision trolling app that will give you the dive curves for those new puppies!
Good luck!
