Thread: Need some pointers

Fished Falls yesterday in the Upper Barton creek area. Covered lots of depths spider rigging from the kayak with jigs and soft plastics. Tried following various contours, following creek channels, targeting creek swings. Marked a lot of bait on the sonar. But I only had 2 bites and caught one small fish.

Should I be more out towards the main lake? I know I am restricted fishing in a kayak but it's what I have available at the moment.

What else should I be doing?

Do you have a good fish finder?
Look for bait that’s broken up, if it’s a solid mass on the bottom there’s most likely no biters.
There’s fish all over the lake, just got to find the right depth.
When I fished out of my kayak I would launch at hwy50 and paddle out to the left. Find the channel and move real slow.
Ive been catching few on the bottom in 19-22’ of water.
Weve been sitting almost still and the bites have been extremely light.

It's a Lowrance Elite HDI. Not great but I think it's ok. I was moving along at about .35 mph. Is that too fast?

shooting the dock at rolling view marina will be fun if they are allowed you to do so.

Depends on your weight. Your line should be straight down.

If you’re getting blown around and you can’t sit still, switch to deep slip corks.
