That's the main reason I went with jenko. They have stainless eyes. Other than that I was leaning towards SCR as well.

hmm, i personally own 22 southern crappie rods and have fished with them for about fifteen years, and i fish a fair amount of days throughout the year, and i have never had a eye to crack on me, nor have i ever heard tell of anyone complaining about such and i know alot of folks that fish ed’s rods, dont come on here bad mouthing and making up junk
I'm not here bad mouthing and making up junk. I just stated my experience and if I thought they were junk I wouldn't continue to buy them. I have 16 myself and just traded emails with Ed about purchasing a seven foot rod for dock shooting.
So take your attitude somewhere else
I own 28 Southern Crappie rods. Never seen a cracked eye. I have broken two tips one I jammed it into my garage door and the other I hit it with the towel I was wiping my boat with. Ed replaced both tip sections.
im not the one with an attitude, but saying you went with another brand because you had a bunch of guides cracking and then saying you were gonna buy more just dont make sense to me, and i really wonder why ive never had a guide cracking issue? but u say you have them “crack regularly”, i too am just stating my opinion and experience but i wonder how ours can be so different? these guides that you have had crack are they all the tip guide? when you trailer are your rods in a position to where the ends can flop around possibly striking objects or the boat and causing them to crack?
You need to go back and read my posts again.
NEVER once did I say that I was going with another brand of rod. As a MATTER of FACT I said they were a great rod. That’s why I’ve talked with Ed about getting a seven foot rod for shooting docks. I like the rods and never said anything different.
NEVER once did I say I had a bunch of cracked eyes. I’ve had a couple. Ceramic eyes can and will crack.
NEVER once did I say that I have them crack regularly.
NEVER once did I say it was an opinion. I stated my experience.
If I thought they were junk I wouldn't post pictures to SCR Facebook page.
But when someone states their experience that differs from yours doesn’t mean they are bad mouthing and talking junk. Which is what you said which tells me that you have an attitude when you try to dismiss someone telling their experience because it differ from yours.
If I thought they were junk I wouldn't still be using them. See the link below

You wonder how someone's opinion can be different than yours. That's a odd thing to say. I think we need to respect everyone's opinion, but that's just my opinion.
this will be my last response
first to kayaklipjerker your exact words were “they will crack so regularly”
to confederate, i questioned why my and many many others hands on experience with the same item was so drastically different from his, folks will get on public sites and bash others products in attempt to promote there own agendas and this is not the place for it, and we should guard against it, we could all go by the old saying if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all
and i still cant wrap my head around why if you have so much trouble with guides breaking you wanna buy more
2+2 usually makes 4 but in this case it spells something else,
good luck to ya’ll on whatever you fish with, guess thats why the good lord made blondes and brunettes, and redheads, but those redheads they regulary....
I was saying check them regularly because a cracked ceramic eye will chafe the line which can cause a break
What about the rest? That’s right I didn’t.
Again if you would have taken the time to read and comprehend instead of posting what you did then it wouldn’t have gone this far.

Well guys, i'm sure scr are great rods. That being said the mans sign on name is KAYACKLIPJERKER and i see his fishing rods being carried in the back of a pickup. Not in the padded rod box off a 23 foot carolina skiff. So, durability may be a concern. With that being said,i've fished for 45 years and i've broke my share of guides.I don't think he meant any disrespect. He may just prefer a synthetic stock over polished wood,so to speak.
