When you are up under a bridge it will lose the satellite service. Probably the best thing to do is drop the anchor

Wound up with 30 on 6/2, fished bridge pilings in 16-18’. Used minnows on slip floats, they varied from 6-10’, seemed to move up and down around pilings. No monsters, bout 50/50 tween 6-7” and 10-11” fish.
New I-Pilot, 3rd time using. While on spotlock twice it seemed to “loose” it’s place, once took hard right and powered up and ran into bridge. Anyone ever had this happen with a gps motor? Curious if bridge blocked signal some or if it lost satellite signal due to orbit? Something gotta remember to be on look out for next time.

What Mac said. I made that mistake ONCE.
The only time I use spot lock is when I’m in open water. On mine, I’m guessing I might end up anywhere within 15’ of the “spot.” Also consider this, you also have to think about the other end of the boat and what it might be doing. For me, spot lock is only feasible in open water.

You'll get use to it. I like mine. Wind is the factor to master. We've caught a lot of fish in gusting winds tight lining in Jan, Feb and March. When we found perch we hit spot lock and catch all we can and make adjustments as the fish move. Some cussing involved in learning but it will go away as you get the hang of it!Hope it better for you!
