jig puller,were you using minnows or just plastic,if plastic do you have much time to set hook,i am not a troller but figure to be competive this time of year on bob cat's tournament I will have to learn how

Genec I use jigs only about 95% of the time. Most of the time I don't have to set the hook they will take it straight down especially if I'm long lining. If I spider rig , sometimes they take it and run , but sometimes depending on the time of year there bite is really lite. I tend to really pay more attention sider rigging because they will pick the jig up real soft and swim with the speed of the boat at whatever speed your trolling. Lately I been taking 3 dozen minnows to tip my jigs with because that seems what they want that particular day. Hope this helps
