lake catamount, steamboat springs colorado. i was so lucky to be a member of this private, 500 acre fishing lake for 13 years. it is at the base of rabbit ears pass at 6,800 feet. it was stocked with rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout, and northern pike in the river below the dam. the lake record was a 13.5 pound rainbow. my personal bests were a 8 1/2 pound rainbow and a 8 1/2 brown trout. it is now a private playground for the rich with a golf course, marina and ringed with houses.

lake mcconaughy nebraska. holds nearly every state record fish. 22 miles long by 5 miles all sugar sand beaches. my personal bests there a 42 pound 2 0z striped bass and 12 pound two ounce walleye.
