    Default Fishing other than lakes

Anyone fishing dark water rivers like there are in Eastern NC? Not to many lakes near me. Interested in seeing what others are catching outside of lakes.

I rarely do but nmost of the coastal streams have good crappie populations. Wondering about any part of the state in particular?

Fellow off of the **************** site smokes the crappie in the Pasquotank and surrounding waters. I do pretty decent in the Neuse and Trent Rivers as well. Very few 2lb fish, but plenty of 1.25 to 1.5lb fish.

River fishing is a whole different game. I'm in Wilmington and fish tidal water around here. Northeast Cape Fear and Black rivers mainly. Plenty of river crappie in some of my old posts. Good to have another river man.

YO guys I am on the coast of NC and I am river, creek a plenty. I live about a half mile in from Currituck sound, about thirty miles north of the Kitty Hawk bridge. We catch a plenty of crappie here but we don't see many three pounders. I have read that they are smaller due to the rivers current. But we due get a lot of 11/2 to 2lbs. 11-13". But it is a very different kind of fishing than in the lakes, and I have spent a good bit of time trying to learn the many different parts of our rivers.
