Water Temp 85 degrees. Due to a non-charge on my trolling motor batts, decided to anchor out and fish for cats. Traffic was light most of the day, and the wind was surprisingly light. We anchored in a cove and fished with some worms my wife dug in our compost. These worms get nightcrawler size, but are very belligerent and break easy. I like that they're free, but have little patience with them. Worm fishing was slow, so my son and I decided to try cat-fishing with some Sudden Impact catfish stink bait that I had carried in the boat for six years. I managed to catch a small, but frying sized, cat on a circle hook. But, decided to switch to a treble hook to help hold the bait on. Loading a hook is not a lot of fun. My tub may have been old and dry, so it was difficult to load. But, we caught five keeper catfish, so we thought the results were good. My wife caught one 11 inch crappie on a worm. It was a pleasant day on the water for all of us. I suspect these were blue catfish, but, I'm not sure.
