Shearon Harris 9/30 with under water footage

Well, water temps are still up, 75.4 on the Garmin all day. I've only been to Harris a few times so most of the brush or structure I know of had boats on it and other sites that didn't just didn't have any fish on them. So I muttered around playing Jacques Cousteau along the salad for bream.

With the algae content up so high still I only have about 3-3.5ft visibility in one direction, then everything looks like a German U Boat, so video isn't the best means of finding anything but I did find some fish to view. Later in the year when the algae dies off it should produce some great video and of course be better on some crappie. I am learning alot on jig colors and visibility though. Its pretty weird to get to a certian depth and see the loss of color. One of my goals this year is to see how all that relates to jig colors that produce and if there is anything that can be gained from it. So I didn't catch much in the traditional sence but what a beautiful day on the water.

The jerkyness you see is from me trolling to fast and the drag on the cabling causing vibration.

Very cool Woody. I have thought many times about rigging up some kind of underwater camera myself.
That looked like a pretty nice bass that almost collided with the camera one time about 3/4 through the video.
It really lets you know just how much vegetation there is at Harris Lake and how healthy the fishery is there.
I look forward to seeing more of your underwater footage in the future.

Its suprising to find out some things about a lake. Where vegitation lines are and such. Most of Harris is a light sandy bottom with little to no salad at all. I've worked in R&D since I got out of the service, mostly weapons and the last tweleve years in the hunting industry, so I'm a lot like you in the the way I gotta find out how stuff works and see it for myself. Also my three year old daughter loves the video when I get home from fishing. She helps with the download, editing and the whole process. I'll be getting her in the boat next spring and she'll likely take over till her little brother steps up and fights her for it. Gonna be fun!

Great video, I want it as my screen saver. Sure are a lot of Crappie in your video, you should have been longlining behind the boat about the same depth as the camera was.

Glad you guys liked it. Its pretty hard to control the camera, I'd probly loose it if I was trying to fish at the same time. You gotta react fast or loose it when it gets hung up.

Most of that is in 6-12 ft.
