    Default Gar in Falls Lake?

I am in-between projects at work and decided to take yesterday off. I have not had my boat in the water since last October when I did some flounder fishing at the coast. Even though I live closer to Falls Lake than Jordan or Harris, I seldom fish the lake. There are some places I have never been to on the lake and decided to check one area out yesterday.

After catching a small crappie and three white bass, I had something sizeable hit my line. I was long-lining 1/48 ounce jigs and this fish took quite a run on me. After getting the fish up to the boat, I could not believe it was a gar. I've caught several bowfin in Jordan over the years and some Chain Pickerel in Harris, but never a gar in this part of NC. Have any of you folks ever caught gar in Falls? By the way, this gar is sporting a red nose souvenir this morning.
