Tried to fish about mid-day on Tillery for a little while yesterday in the Hurricane force winds. lol. Tried in a couple of coves, but nothing in the 18 to 12 fow. Found the fish stacked up right outside the mouths in 22 to 24 fow, but wind blowing straight down the lake made it impossible to long line and I was not set up for anything else. You could count the fish on the depthfinder. Big schools. Maybe get a chance to get them one afternoon this week.

Fishing is a science, study, experiment, fail, and succeed...then start over tomorrow. Yeah I'm a science guy.

Good luck Matt. I went yesterday and didn't have much luck. Could not locate them. I was on a different part of the lake (Lillie's Bridge) They were not in the coves or shallow. I did mark some bait and lots of fish in 35 to 45 down in 55 fow, but figured those to be striper. Jigged a little with big spoons for striper, but didn't catch anything. I wouldn't think any crappie would be that deep now. Still a beautiful day to be on the lake.
quailhunter thanked you for this post
Thanks, I plan on checking trees, then checking some other places, but good to know, maybe these few warmer days will warm the water a little and change things up. Mostly want to play with my new depthfinder and terrova. So maybe we can catch a few between the play time.

They could very well be in already. I think we may go to Hickory Saturday to do a little striper fishing. Let me know how you do.
