Fished Norman on Saturday. When I arrived at our place, there was tons of bait in the water under and around our pier. Tons as in thousands and thousands. My son immediately caught 4 bass on the small side. We then went out looking for birds and trolled a deep diving redfin and a storm lure of some sort. Caught 3 bass in the 12-14" range. What birds we finally found were all just sitting on the water. Went on to try some of our crappie holes and finally ended up with 2 small but healthy crappie. They were about 15' deep in 25' of water near brush. We also caught about 10 bass and 4 perch. Some of the bass we caught we by way of seeing schools of bait being attacked. We used old Bomber Speed Shad on those. Anyone with any of those lures that you don't want or need, I'd be interested in buying them.

Last nigh I was travelling back from Atlanta and had to stop by our place. I had left some minnows in the floating bait bucket and decided to give I a try on the pier under or light. Fished 5 minutes with 1 10" perch and one 13" crappie. Both on minnows 4-5' deep in 10' of water. Both were fat and happy.

A good start to "spring" fishing.
