I'm thinking of buying a few sit on yaks for me and the family (4 total) with two daughters 10 and 13. I used to a good bit of whitewater kayaking back in WV so I have some experience. But the family has none other than some canoeing. I want to get a decent yak for around $400 each that's fairly stable and decent for fishing. So I was looking at the Field & Stream Talon 120 at Dicks for around $399 right now. Does anyone on here have any experience with this yak or something similar? It has some pretty good reviews but I don't put a lot of faith in online reviews. Thanks.
I've used them before on several multi-mile trips down creeks and rivers, including the rougher water where the creek meets the river and never had a problem with stability.
A guy I've fished with some over the last couple of years couldn't stay in one and finally bought another brand.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
